The 501c4 nonprofit United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation Board of Directors has approved a bidding process to determine the destination for the 2014 and 2015 Moo Duk Kwan® National Festivals.
Members nationwide can participate in the USA Moo Duk Kwan® National Festival bidding process similar to the bidding process that is used to select the host country for the Olympic Games, but the Federation process is win, win, win for all bidders, so place your- bid now for your preferred destination. You can't lose, even if you cannot attend the Festival later. And Gup Members REALLY need to read this if you are thinking about NOT bidding.
Highlights Of The National Festival Experience You Are Bidding For
How Does This Bidding Thing Work?
When you place a bid for your preferred destination the following things happen:
- Your bid amount will automatically be increased by 25% in additional credit!**
For example:
- Bid $50 and get $12.50 additional credit = $62.50 credit
- Bid $100 and get $25.00 additional credit = $125.00 credit
- Bid $200 and get $50.00 additional credit = $250.00 credit
- Bid $300 and get $75.50 additional credit = $375.00 credit
- Bid $400 and get $100.00 additional credit = $500.00 credit
- Bid $500 and get $125.00 additional credit = $625.00 credit
- Bid $1000 and get $250.00 additional credit = $1250.00 credit

- When you have bid for a location THAT WINS, then your bid will be converted into a credit that you can use toward your event registration fees when attending that event at the destination you bid for.
. - When you have bid for a location that DOES NOT WIN, then your actual bid amount will be refunded in full if you request it OR you can apply your bid amount PLUS your 25% in additional credit toward attending the event at the winning destination or toward your Federation dues or toward other fees or product orders however you prefer during the redemption period defined by the Federation. There is no risk to you.
- For example, lets say you bid $1000 toward your preferred destination and you get $250 in additional credit and your destination DOES NOT WIN, then you can request your $1000 refund OR instead of losing your 25% additional credit, you might consider applying your $1250 credit toward the event fees to attend the event at the winning destination or toward a Lifetime Membership or a Lifetime Institute Subscription, etc. during the redemption period defined by the Federation. You win just by bidding. You can't lose!

You can be a strong leader and actively advocate your preferred destination by calling and emailing your friends and asking them to bid for your preferred destination. Post a link to the bidding page for your preferred destination on your Facebook page and ask everyone whom you think may be interested in attending to place a bid. All bidders get a 25% bonus on every dollar they bid and can't lose with the Federation's win-win-win bidding policy!
The bidding period is short and your immediate action is necessary for you to be a leader who helps shape the future and bring the National Festival to your backyard.

You have an exciting opportunity to influence where the 2014 and 2015 National Festivals are held AND to also earn 25% more than you bid, but this opportunity is only available when you bid while the bidding process is open. When the bidding closes, the opportunity to earn a 25% return on your dollars also ends.
Because this is a brand new process, the facilities and dates for some regional destinations are still in flux. If you need to plan vacation time remember that when you bid for a destination, even if the winning region hosts the Festival on a date you cannot attend, you can't lose even if you are unable to attend the event you bid for.
As few as 150 to 200 bidders could win a preferred destination for those who support it with their bids.
Gups and Dans are invited to bid for your preferred location and should enough Gup Members place bids for a preferred location, the TAC might consider opening up special opportunities at the Festival for those Gups who have placed bids.
Hint: An exciting new sparring format is scheduled to be introduced nationwide by the TAC in 2014.
- Select your preferred destination and submit your bid(s) before the bidding period ends. Be sure to tell your fellow classmates and region members to bid and help bring the Nationals to your preferred destination!
. - You can bid more than once while the bidding period is open. For example, you may want to submit another bid for you preferred destination if you notice that it is trailing behind other destinations.
. - You can also bid for more than one location; however, when the bidding closes, the destination with the greatest total amount of bids will be the destination targeted for that year's National Festival.*
